FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

Q: Where do the lessons take place?

A: We come to you! We are a mobile swim school, meaning we conduct our lessons in the comfort of your own home or apartment complex pool. This saves you the commute and helps your child learn in a familiar, relaxed environment.

Q: Which areas of Sydney do you cover?

A: We service a wide range of suburbs including the Upper North Shore, Northern Districts, Hills & Northwest, the Inner West, Ryde District, and the Harbourside/Beaches areas. If you’re unsure if we cover your street, just give us a shout!

Q: How long is each lesson?

A: We offer three flexible options to suit different ages and attention spans:

  • 30 Minutes: Great for toddlers and younger children.
  • 45 Minutes: Ideal for school-aged kids working on technique.
  • 60 Minutes: Perfect for advanced stroke correction or multiple siblings.

About the Lessons

Q: At what age can my child start?

A: We welcome little swimmers from 18 months old. Our levels progress from “Toddler Foundations” (18 months–3 years) all the way up to “School-Age Excellence” (5+ years).

Q: Do you teach adults too?

A: Yes! Whether you’re a complete beginner or a retiree looking to improve your stroke and endurance, we provide private adult coaching tailored to your goals.

Q: Will we have the same teacher every week?

A: Absolutely. We believe consistency is key to building trust and seeing progress. You will work directly with a veteran coach—no “instructor rotations” like you might find at larger aquatic centres.

Q: Do I need to be in the water with my child?

A: For our “Toddler Foundations” level (18 months–3 years), we do require a trusted adult to be in the water. This helps the child feel secure while they learn vital survival skills like the “Turn and Reach” method.

Pricing & Booking

Q: How much do lessons cost?

A: We keep our pricing simple and transparent with no hidden travel fees:

  • 30 Minutes — $60
  • 45 Minutes — $75
  • 60 Minutes — $90
  • We also offer a “5 Lesson Bundle” for $340 (saving you $35).

Q: Are there any hidden travel fees?

A: No. The prices listed above are all-inclusive for the areas we service.

Q: How do I book?

A: You can get in touch via phone, text (0430 169 379), or email (info@aquawhispererswim.com.au). Since we are a boutique service, we’ll check our current schedule and find a time that works for your family.

Safety & Qualifications

Q: Are your instructors qualified?

A: Yes. Our founder is a Master competitive swimmer with over 25 years of experience. All our coaches are AUSTSWIM certified, hold current CPR and First Aid qualifications, and have valid Working with Children Checks (WWCC).

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?

A: Since we use your home pool, we generally swim in all weather unless there is lightning or the pool temperature is too cold for the child. We recommend heated pools for the best year-round experience.

A neatly organized mobile swim school kit laid out beside a backyard pool: sets of color-coded swim fins, foam kickboards in teal and royal blue, bright pool noodles, floating rings, and a waterproof timer, all arranged on a clean light-grey outdoor deck. The glistening pool occupies the background, its blue water captured in sharp detail. Soft overcast daylight provides diffused, shadowless illumination, highlighting textures of foam and rubber. Shot from a slightly elevated angle with photographic realism, the composition is carefully structured and spacious, creating a professional, trustworthy atmosphere that suggests a mobile instructor has just arrived and is fully prepared for structured, private swimming lessons.

A close-up of a laminated swimming progress chart clipped to a waterproof clipboard, resting on a smooth stone coping at the edge of a residential pool. The chart shows clear, color-coded skill levels and checkboxes, with a fine-point waterproof pen neatly placed on top. Behind, the pool’s calm blue water fades into a gentle bokeh, with a subtle reflection of surrounding trees. Soft morning sunlight grazes the surface, creating crisp but gentle shadows and highlighting the chart’s glossy finish. Captured in photographic realism from a low, side-on angle, the composition feels organized and reassuring, emphasizing structured learning and 25 years of experience, without any human figures.
